We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors and also all the volunteers that have helped to make the 9th edition of the Kayuh Lasak a success. Thank you for all the support and encouragement.  We hope you have enjoyed the trail and had your fair share of food, fun and fellowship during the event.  We would like to also take this opportunity to thank all that have provided us with feedbacks on the event. We have heard you and your comment is invaluable to us as we begin our preparations for the 10th edition of Kayuh Lasak. We look forward to welcoming you back to our event next year with much anticipation and enthusiasm. Join us at the Car Free Day event. 2500 t-shirts have been printed and will be given FREE on 1st come 1st serve basis. Just hand-in your registration form on the event day to redeem the free T-shirt.

Below are the details of the event:

7.00AM - Welcoming speech by CM(in front of Pinang Round-a-bout/beside Jab Imigresen)
7.30AM - CM flags off fun ride to JE and back. ~20km
7.45AM - CM flag off short ride along the Beach Street stretch all the way till Bomba. ~890 meters. 
8.00AM - 10.30am - other non-carbon activities join in

NOTE TO ALL PARTICANTS


Qualification For Awards and Ranked Finisher Medals
In order to qualify for the awards and ranked finisher medals, the participant must collect a complete set of all 9 checkpoint stickers. Checkpoint 1 and 9 stickers will be given out at the start and finish points. Failure to collect the complete set of all 9 checkpoint stickers for whatever reason will mean automatic disqualification. That means the participant is only eligible to be awarded the unranked finisher medal. 5 awards will be up for grabs:

  • Juara Kayuh Lasak (Lelaki & Perempuan) to the first male and female participant respectively to cross the finish line with ALL 9 Checkpoint stickers.
  • Jaguh Bukit Kayuk Lasak (Lelaki & Perempuan) to the first male and female participant respectively to reach the top of a DESIGNATED HILL (NOT the first hill!) and complete the ride with ALL 9 Checkpoint stickers.
  • Semangat Kayuh Lasak to the participant who best exemplifies the indomitable spirit of Kayuh Lasak and the Fun, Food and Fellowship philosophy of this event. The winner will be decided by a panel of judges made up of marshals and the organizing committee.

In the event the winner of the Juara Kayuh Lasak and Jaguh Bukit Kayuh Lasak is the same person, the participant will have to decide which award he/she wants to win. No participant is eligible to win 2 awards.

  • Ranked Finisher Medals will be presented to ~XX% of participants in the order they finish with a complete set of ALL 9 checkpoint stickers.
  • Participants who finish early, but with INCOMPLETE set of checkpoint stickers will only be eligible for the unranked finisher medals.

Collection Of Goodie Bags
All participants will be eligible to collect their goodie bags on the day of the event (4th Dec2011), including during the Kayuh Lasak Grand Dinner.

  • Participants can collect their goodie bags just by presenting their Rider Plates. You do not need to bring along your bicycles.
  • Participants may collect on behalf of their friends and fellow participants. Just bring their Rider Plate.
  • Participants who are unable to start or complete the Kayuh Lasak are also eligible.
  • No checkpoint stickers are required.

NO MORE CLAIMS for goodie bags will be entertained after the event is over on 4th Dec 2011

 

LUCKY DRAW
There will be many prizes to be won. To qualify, participants must start and complete the ride. A lucky dip will be conducted at the finish line and participants will win ONE of the following:

  • Mystery Prizes to be claimed at prize counter during dinner. Just present your winning ticket.
  • Lucky Dip prizes to be claimed at prize counter during dinner. Just present your winning ticket.
  • A Lucky Ticket to participate in the Grand Lucky Draw to be conducted on stage during the Kayuh Lasak dinner. The draw will be based on the Rider Plate Number and the lucky winner must come on stage to personally claim the prize. The winner must be the REGISTERED OWNER of the Rider Plate Number (per our participant list).

ALL prizes must be claimed during the dinner function.

The starting point for this year's Kayuh Lasak is at Kompleks Sukan Balik Pulau. It's just right beside last year's venue. Looks like a lot of people do not know where we will start our KAW Ride. Please refer to the following GPS coordinate: N5 20.372 E100 12.829. Come here for registration and rider plate collection on Dec 3rd. (Refer to the 'FAQ').

Do be at the starting point early to check-in on the event day (Dec 4th) as we have a larger crowd this year. Cut off time for check-in is 7.15a.m. CP1 sticker will be given during check-in.
