What is Penang Heritage Experience On Wheels?
It is an event that caters to all levels of cycling enthusiasts. It is a cycle hunt event starting on December 5th that will show riders the food and heritage of Penang. On that day, participants will ride their bike through the roads of Georgetown to scour the streets looking for heritage sites and then reward themselves at the best hawker stalls Penang can offer. To make sure it is not only fun, riders will have to answer a quiz based on what they have seen. Sponsored goodies will be given away as prizes to the winning teams. The focus is on Fun, Food and Fellowship.
What do I get for my entry fee?
This year for only RM60, you get to join two events; the Saturday’s Penang Heritage Experience On Wheels (PHEW) and the Sunday’s Kayuh Lasak “Im Back!”
As always a Grand Jamboree dinner where Penang's famous local culinary delights will be served. You will also get our event souvenir t-shirt, riding plate, lots of sponsored goodies, and an exclusive finisher medal.

Is there any watering stations for me to replenish my water supply?
Yes! There are a lot of convenience stores in Georgetown. Just remember to pay on your way out.
How is the route like? Is it very tough?

Like that-ah. So what to bring-ah?
HELMET (COMPULSORY!) – NO HELMET, NO RIDE!!!! Be SELF-SUFFICIENT ie. lotsa drinking water(min 3 litres), gloves and protective gear (optional) and the usual bike accessories like spare tubes and pump, multi-tool, an enduring spirit to overcome the odds, COMMON SENSE to observe and obey traffic rules.
Ride hard, ride fast BUT ride SAFE and have FUN! Last but not least remember to smile at the kucimamas on the streets.

Got insurance-ah?
Where got money left. Only charge RM60, give so many things. Buy your own insurance-lah. Be responsible for your own actions. Seriously, ALL riders will be required to sign an indemnity form to clear the organizers and their agents of any legal proceedings. This is a non-profit making event and is organized by volunteers who have sacrificed much of their time, energy and money FOC, so they don't need to be burdened by legal issues after the event. Those who do not agree can withdraw and will be given a FULL REFUND. Please refer to the INDEMNITY FORM.
What is the walkie-talkie channel?
Yes. We do have. The channel is set at 3-3.
Still got checkpoint stickers to collect-ah?
Yes, there are control checkpoints along the route where you will receive a chop on your passport. You have to obtain all chops, indicating you have completed the whole route!
